Job summary

The role is an admin role on a busy medical ward, it involves working as part of a big team and can give you the chance to be passionate and creative in the role.

although there isn't much progression in ward clerking there is opportunity to do courses and progress within the NHS.

the candidate should be friendly and enjoy a fast paced workload which will give you a sense of achievement at the end of the day.

Your roles will involve covering medical wards with all clerical duties.

The Medical Unit at University Hospitals of Leicester is a vibrant, diverse and rewarding environment which sees a vast amount of medical patients.

We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic Ward Clerk, with excellent communication skills and the ability to demonstrate effective team work. You will need to be flexible, enthusiastic and passionate about emergency care and you need to be committed to improving service delivery. The ability to work in a fast paced environment

The role includes answering telephone enquiries, booking outpatient appointments, admitting/discharging patients. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for the wider MD team and patients relatives, so will need to possess good customer service skills. You will also need the ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team and on your own initiative

Proficient communication skills, an aptitude for organizing, attention to detail and accurate keyboard skills are essential.
